Two members of Congress — Republican Thomas Massie and Democrat Ro Khanna — say they discovered that the DOJ and FBI had redacted the names of six powerful men from the Epstein files. After they raised concerns, the DOJ admitted the redactions were a “mistake” and revealed the names: Leslie Wexner, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Nicola Caputo, Salvatore Nuara, Zurab Mikoladze, and Leonid Leonov.

Khanna stated on the House floor that many of these redactions were done earlier by the FBI before the files were sent to the DOJ. He also pointed out that 70–80% of the files they reviewed were still heavily redacted. One document reportedly labeled Wexner as a “co-conspirator,” which appears to contradict prior testimony from FBI Director Kash Patel, who said there was no evidence Epstein trafficked girls to others.

At the same time, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick admitted under oath that he visited Epstein’s island in 2012, after Epstein’s conviction, despite previously saying he cut ties earlier.
Khanna and Massie are now calling for full transparency and equal accountability, arguing that powerful individuals should not receive special protection. They say the American public deserves to see the complete, unredacted files.
