American pop singer-songwriter, Taylor Swift, has garnered the most nominations for the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, receiving a total of ten nods. She is up for Video of the Year, and if she wins, she will set a new record as the first artiste to win in the category five times.

Nigerian artistes Burna Boy, Tems and Ayra Starr were also nominated for the Best Afrobeats category.

American singer and rapper Post Malone follows Swift with nine nominations. Ariana Grande, Eminem, and Sabrina Carpenter each have six nominations. Megan Thee Stallion and SZA each have five nominations, while LISA, Olivia Rodrigo, and Teddy Swims each have four.

Carpenter and Swims are among 29 first-time nominees, including Benson Boone and Tyla with three nominations each. Multiple nods also go to Victoria Monét, Sexyy Red, Gunna, Rauw Alejandro, and Playboi Carti. Other newcomers include Burna Boy, Coco Jones, Flyana Boss, Gracie Abrams, Joyner Lucas, and Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” which has earned its first-ever nomination.
