BREAKING: 🇺🇸 U.S. Senators have officially called for President Trump’s removal from office under the 25th amendment.

Washington, D.C. — A group of U.S. senators has formally called for the removal of Donald Trump from office under the provisions of the Twenty-fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution, escalating political tensions in the nation’s capital.

In a joint statement released Tuesday morning, the lawmakers argued that recent events have raised serious concerns about the president’s ability to discharge the powers and duties of his office. While the senators did not provide detailed evidence in the initial announcement, they emphasized that the constitutional mechanism exists to ensure continuity and stability in executive leadership during extraordinary circumstances.

The Twenty-fifth Amendment, ratified in 1967, outlines procedures for replacing or temporarily transferring presidential authority in cases of death, resignation, or inability to serve. Section 4 of the amendment allows the vice president and a majority of the Cabinet to declare the president unable to perform his duties, at which point the vice president assumes the role of acting president.

Political analysts note that invoking Section 4 is rare and has never resulted in the permanent removal of a president against their will. Any such effort would require coordination between the vice president and Cabinet members, and could ultimately trigger a vote in Congress if the president contests the declaration.

Supporters of the move argue it is a necessary safeguard, while critics contend it is a politically motivated attempt to undermine the administration. Members of the White House have strongly rejected the calls, describing them as baseless and partisan.

As developments continue, attention will turn to whether the vice president and Cabinet take steps consistent with the amendment’s provisions, and whether congressional leadership signals support for further action.
