“Attorney General Bondi, I’m glad you finally made it here after hiding for four months from this committee. I understand why you’re hiding from us,” said Garcia during a House Judiciary committee hearing.
“Whoa I thought you were— Hiding, chairman?” interjected Bond.
“You’re one of the worst attorney generals in our history and an instrument of Donald Trump’s lawless authoritarian agenda,” continued Garcia. “And I’m glad the American people are seeing who you are, how you act, and the lack of good values.”
“You weaponized the Department of Justice to target immigrants, working families, and anyone that Trump deems an enemy of the state, all to protect real powerful criminals, including in your administration,” he went on.
“My Democratic colleagues have focused on your coverup of the Epstein files and your passion for protecting pedophiles and child traffickers,” said Garcia. “That alone is grounds for impeachment but there’s so much more to your corrupt tenure as attorney general.”
He then went on to list a string of Bondi’s most egregious abuses of power, including her directing prosecutors to prioritize low level immigration cases over corporate criminals and public corruption and her covering up of a murder in his district. Garcia also pointed to her rubber-stamping the kidnapping and deportation of migrants to a “torture prison” in El Salvador.
We would only quibble with the congressman on one point in his fiery takedown. Pam Bondi is not “one of the worst” attorney generals in American history, she’s the absolute worst without caveat and it’s not even close. She’ll be remembered as the woman who supported every single one of Donald Trump’s fascist power grabs while devoting herself to covering up the most egregious pedophile enterprise the world has ever seen.
