“The reality is that they are trying to limit our voices in various spaces. And they decided to specifically start with Texas. I wonder why.
They decide to start with Texas and he used his Supreme Court’s some limit, our voices. You see, they went after congressional districts. More specifically, they are attacking African American voices when it comes to these districts. They decided, just about four days before filing, that they would take five seats away from Texas.

In the process of doing that, in the state that has more African Americans than any other state, they decided that African American voices in the state of Texas would only be valued at one fifth. We’re not even at three fifths, y’all. One fifth. So when it came down to making this very difficult decision, in a state that a lot of people don’t believe in, after a lot of prayer, I knew that if anybody can do this, it would be me. And you see, the difference is, when you run for Senate, everybody’s voice is equal. Everybody has a full vote when it comes to running for Senate.

I am here to tell you that this ain’t gonna be easy, and I’m here to tell you that a lot of people are going to say that it is impossible. But the reality is that the only reason that I am being attacked is because they know your power. They know your strength.”
