BREAKING: Senator Mark Kelly announces that he’s “seriously” considering a presidential run after a string of high-profile victories against Trump’s corrupt Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

“We are in some seriously challenging times right now. I don’t know if I would be the best person in this job,” Kelly told the BBC. “I am a lot different than most of these other 100 senators. I’m one of the very few engineers, I’m the only person with a graduate degree in engineering in the United States Senate. I’ve got combat experience, that’s kind of rare. I spent 25 years in the military.”

Kelly is also a former astronaut, a loving husband, and a staunch advocate for American democracy.

“I didn’t start out in some state legislature somewhere. I don’t think of myself as a politician.,” he added. “It’s a serious decision. I just haven’t made it yet.”

Kelly has been a rising star in the Democratic Party since his election to the Senate, but that star has been supercharged in recent months by his public battles with the Trump administration. Hegseth attempted to demote him after he joined with five other senators to release a video urging American troops to ignore illegal orders. That effort puttered out in court.

Trump’s lawless lapdog prosecutors at the Justice Department — led by the booze-soaked former Fox News host Jeanine Pirroo — even tried to secure indictments against Kelly and the other Democratic lawmakers over the video. A grand jury rejected the suggestion that any law had been broken.

Kelly expects that Trump will keep coming after him despite the setbacks.

“This is not going to end by me going away. I’m going to continue to fight this thing even if it goes all the way to the Supreme Court,” said the senator.

Regardless of whether or not Kelly is your first pick for the Democratic nomination, there’s no disputing that he would do an infinitely better job than Trump or JD Vance. Imagine the sweet payback that Kelly could get from the Oval Office, wielding the vast powers of the presidency not to punish political enemies arbitrarily, but to ensure that the law is upheld and the criminals that compose this MAGA administration are held accountable for their misdeeds.
