BREAKING:T.r.u.m.p SLAMMED as Senate BLOCKS His Kennedy Center Takeover
WATCH HERE:
The Kennedy family and many lawmakers are outraged after the Kennedy Center was abruptly rebranded as the “Donald J. T.r.u.m.p and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.” The new signage appeared without public debate, following a unanimous vote by a T.r.u.m.p-appointed board.
T.r.u.m.p claims he was surprised and honored, but critics say the move is legally meaningless and deeply disrespectful.
The Kennedy Center is not a private building—it was created and named by Congress in 1964 as a national memorial to President John F. Kennedy. Because of that, only Congress has the authority to change its name. A board vote and new signage do not override federal law.
Lawmakers warn this sets a dangerous precedent: allowing presidents to rename national memorials at will. Without congressional approval, this rename exists only in appearance, not in law—and many believe Trump’s name will be removed as soon as his power ends.
