Taylor Swift Calls Fans ‘Champions and Heroes’ for ‘Wildly’ Dancing in the Rain at French Show
Taylor Swift is a fan of her own fans!
The pop star, 34, who’s currently on the European leg of her Eras Tour, couldn’t help but appreciate her supporters on Sunday, June 2, when they continued dancing in the rain during her show at the Groupama Stadium in Lyon, France.
“So it looks like we have officially had a rain show tonight, this is a rain show for sure,” Swift told the crowd in a video shared by a fan page on X (formerly known as Twitter). “That is set, that is permanent because it doesn’t matter if it rains again, it really did rain during this show.”
Sitting by the piano, which was decorated with moss, Swift continued, “You guys are absolute champions and heroes for dancing even harder when it started raining.”
“I saw that,” she added as her fans cheered. The “Blank Space” singer then said that despite not touring in Europe much, she couldn’t thank her overseas fans enough for being so welcoming
Swift then directed her attention to a person in the audience and asked if they needed help.
Speaking French, the singer asked for some assistance for the fan before saying, “Yeah we have to take care of these crowds because you’re just the best and you just dance so wildly and sing so loudly.”
Playing the piano, she added, “I never could have imagined we would have this much fun on the European tour. It’s just been crazy, you guys and I appreciate so much.”
Swift also celebrated Pride Month at the show as she told the crowd “Happy Pride Month, Lyon,” while she performed “You Need to Calm Down.” Rainbow lights flashed on the stage as she sang the 2019 song while fans waved their arms in sync.
The multiple Grammy-winner is set to perform another show in Lyon on Monday, June 3, before heading to the U.K. to perform multiple concerts in England, Scotland and Wales, along with Dublin, Ireland.
