It’s been a few short days since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their first child, a son, into the world, and now we finally have a name for the little one: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
The news was announced via the couple’s official Instagram @SussexRoyal, alongside an adorable shot of the Duchess showing the Queen her new grandson.

It seems that the Duke and Duchess have decided to depart from the “norm” yet again by opting for a more unique moniker — unlike his cousins, the new baby’s doesn’t come directly from the family tree.
Regardless, the royal baby’s name has been on the receiving end of positive feedback from folks everywhere. People are leaving comments on the aforementioned announcement post like, “What a cute name! Congratulations 💜” and “Happy Doria was included in this ❤️ beautiful name.” The latter comment refers to the fact that Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, was also included in the royal family photo.
It goes without saying, but this is such a special time in the royal family’s lives, and we couldn’t be happier for them. Welcome to the world, Archie!
